Consumatore:

Epatotossicità tra acidosi lattica, grave epatomegalia con steatosi, epatite fulminante, e di insufficienza epatica è stata associata con l'uso di alcuni inibitori nucleosidici della trascrittasi inversa (Nrti) da solo o in combinazione con altri agenti antiretrovirali. La terapia con Nrti deve essere somministrato con cautela in pazienti con preesistenti malattie del fegato, una storia di abuso di alcol, o l'epatite. La terapia deve essere sospesa se, clinici o di laboratorio suggestivi di acidosi lattica o pronunciato epatotossicità verificarsi. L'uso di abacavir è controindicato in pazienti con moderata a grave insufficienza epatica in quanto la sua sicurezza ed efficacia non sono state stabilite in questi pazienti.
