Consumatore:

L'uso di diuretici tiazidici è comunemente associato con la perdita di elettroliti, soprattutto potassio, ma anche di sodio, cloruro, bicarbonato e magnesio. La perdita di altri elettroliti come fosfato, bromuro e ioduro è di solito lieve. Potassio e magnesio deplezione può portare ad aritmie cardiache e arresto cardiaco. Altre elettrolitico complicanze includono alcalosi metabolica e iponatriemia, che sono raramente pericolosa per la vita. La terapia con diuretici tiazidici devono essere somministrati con cautela in pazienti con o predisposti a fluido e deplezione elettrolitica, compresi i pazienti con iperaldosteronismo primario o secondario (possono avere bassi livelli di potassio); quelli con grave o prolungata diarrea o vomito; e quelli con scarso stato nutrizionale. Fluidi e di elettroliti anomalie devono essere corrette prima di iniziare la terapia, e la pressione sanguigna così come elettroliti sierici concentrazioni monitorate periodicamente e mantenuta a valori normali durante la terapia. I pazienti devono essere avvisati di riferire immediatamente segni e sintomi di liquido o di squilibrio elettrolitico, tra cui secchezza delle fauci, sete, debolezza, letargia, sonnolenza, irrequietezza, dolori muscolari o crampi, affaticamento muscolare, ipotensione, oliguria, tachicardia, aritmia, o di disturbi gastrointestinali come nausea e vomito. Digitalizzato le pazienti e i pazienti con una storia di aritmie ventricolari, devono essere monitorati attentamente, dal momento che lo sviluppo di ipokaliemia può essere particolarmente pericolosa in questi pazienti. Il rischio di ipokaliemia può essere minimizzato da slow diuresi, inferiore diuretico dosaggio, la supplementazione di potassio, o l'utilizzo combinato con un risparmiatori di potassio diuretico.
