Consumatore:

L'uso prolungato di corticosteroidi può causare la cataratta subcapsulare posteriore e la pressione intraoculare elevata, l'ultimo dei quali può portare a glaucoma e/o danni ai nervi ottici. Con la terapia per via inalatoria e corticosteroidi nasali è solo raramente prodotto questi effetti, ma deve essere somministrata con cautela, tuttavia, in pazienti con una storia di cataratta, glaucoma, o aumento della pressione intraoculare. Anche se gli effetti negativi di corticosteroidi possono essere minimizzati con l'locale piuttosto che la somministrazione per via sistemica, i rischi non sono del tutto abolita. Inalato e nasally applicata farmaco può essere assorbito nella circolazione, soprattutto quando grandi dosi sono utilizzati. È importante che i dosaggi raccomandati di singoli prodotti non può essere superato, e che la più bassa dose efficace essere utilizzato.
