L'uso di beta-adrenergici agenti di blocco (aka beta-bloccanti) è controindicato in pazienti con ipotensione o shock cardiogeno. A causa della loro negativa inotropo e cronotropo effetti sul cuore, l'uso di beta-bloccanti è probabile che deprimere ulteriormente la gittata cardiaca e la pressione sanguigna, che può essere dannoso in questi pazienti.
