Consumatore:

Agenti anticolinergici sono controindicati in pazienti con il glaucoma primario, una tendenza verso il glaucoma (la parte più stretta dell'angolo della camera anteriore), o aderenze (synechiae) tra l'iride e lente, così come per gli anziani e altri in cui non diagnosticato il glaucoma o eccessiva pressione all'interno dell'occhio può essere presente. Perché anticolinergici causare midriasi, che può aggravare queste condizioni.

Consumatore:

Agenti simpaticomimetici possono indurre transitoria midriasi attraverso la stimolazione degli alfa-1 adrenergici. In pazienti con anatomicamente angoli stretti o glaucoma ad angolo chiuso, dilatazione pupillare, possono scatenare un attacco acuto. In pazienti con altre forme di glaucoma, midriasi occasionalmente può aumentare la pressione intraoculare. La terapia con agenti simpaticomimetici devono essere somministrati con cautela in pazienti con o predisposti al glaucoma, in particolare di glaucoma ad angolo stretto.
